Craft Skill Set All skills required for Level II Technician

Minimum 6 or more years working in construction or building
Experience maintenance.

Electrical Technician Level I
Entry or “apprentice” level maintenance worker who performs only
under the direct and continuous supervision of a higher level technician.

Minimum Education High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Desirable Education 2-year Associate Degree, completion of apprentice
program, or military training in a specific maintenance
craft area.

Minimum General
Basic skill with hand tools and power tools normally
Skill Set
utilized in a specific craft area.
Knowledge of construction drafting and ability to read
and understand blueprints.
Working knowledge of craft and workplace safety rules
and procedures, particularly NFPA Standard70E .

Minimum 1-2 years depending, on education, working in
Experience construction or building maintenance.

Electrical Technician Level II
Semi-skilled or “helper” level maintenance worker who performs
under the general supervision of a higher level technician.

Minimum Education 2-year Associate Degree, completion of apprentice
program, or military training in the a specific
maintenance craft.
15 hours, minimum, each year of additional instruction
in one or more craft areas.
