Bus
Greyhound Canada does not operate within the Atlantic provinces. The main bus lines in
the region:
Maritime Bus ( 902-429-2029; www.maritimebus.com ) For New Brunswick, PEI and
Nova Scotia.
DRL Coachlines ( 709-263-2171; www.drl-lr.com ) Service throughout Newfoundland.
Bus frequency ranges from one to two buses per day along most routes. Buses generally
are clean, comfortable and reliable. They usually have onboard toilets, air-conditioning
(bring a sweater), reclining seats and onboard movies.
A series of small, regional shuttle vans comprises the rest of bus service in the area.
Bus Passes
Neither Maritime nor DRL offer any special discount passes.
Costs
Bus travel is cheaper than other means of transportation. Advance purchases (four, seven
or 14 days) save quite a bit, too.
