good-looking Royal has a variety of rooms to choose from; many of them have kitchens.
The 'inn' side has wi-fi; the suites side has hard-wired high-speed access.

This is a decent joint serving pizzas. It's near the Royal Inn.
Getting There & Away
AIR
Air Canada ( www.aircanada.com ) flies to St John's and Gander. Provincial Airlines
( www.provincialairlines.ca ) flies to St John's, Deer Lake and most towns around Labrador.
BOAT
You can reach Goose Bay by the passenger-only MV Northern Ranger; see
www.labradorferry.ca .
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
From Happy Valley-Goose Bay you can take gravel (but to be paved by 2015) Rte 500
west to Churchill Falls and then on to Labrador City. The drive to Labrador City takes
about 10 hours. There are no services until Churchill Falls, so stock up. The Royal Inn &
Suites has free satellite phones you can take on the road (part of a region-wide safety
program). Rte 510 is the gravel road heading southeast toward Cartwright (383km) and
L'Anse au Clair (623km); parts of it are also being paved. Before leaving, contact the
Department of Transportation & Works ( www.roads.gov.nl.ca ) for the latest condi-
tions.
