February
This is not a popular month to visit this part of Canada unless you're look-
ing for deep snow and hard ice. Expect a warm welcome during one of the
coldest months of the year.
Skiing
Atlantic Canada's best skiing is at Marble Mountain in Corner Brook, Newfoundland,
open from December to April. It's challenging terrain but lift lines are short and the snow
is plentiful.
World Pond Hockey Tournament, Plaster Rock, New Brunswick
Hockey purists, don't miss this event. All proceeds go toward building an arena for the
folks of Tobique Valley, but until then the ponds are cleared and more than 120 teams
come to shoot pucks around the ice.
April
The land is usually thawing by April and trees are sprouting new leaves, but
if you visit you'll be enjoying it all with very few other people around.
