In-Depth Information
(Main St; 24hr) The tourist literature talks up the twice-daily return of the waters of the
tidal Petitcodiac River. In theory, the tide comes in as one solid wave, unfurled like a car-
pet across the muddy riverbed in one dramatic gesture; the height of this oncoming rush
can allegedly vary from just a few centimeters to about 1m. In reality, it usually just
looks like a big mud seep, and is, well…boring.
Casino New Brunswick CASINO
( www.casinonb.ca ; 21 Casino Dr; 10am-3am) The province's first full-service casino, this
24,000-sq-foot gambling palace brings a touch of Vegas to Moncton. It packs in crowds
with its 500 slot machines, poker room, numerous bars and buffets, and an entertainment
venue boasting big-name performers such as the Beach Boys and Bill Cosby. The casino
is about 9km northwest of the town center off Mountain Rd.
