illustrate the kinetic behavior of solute sorption and that short-term iso-
therms (hours or days) do not necessarily provide an accurate description
of their affinity to a specific type of matrix surface or a given soil. Details
regarding kinetic measurements of adsorption and desorption are discussed
later in this chapter (also see Selim and Zhu, 2005).
