Magic Kingdom THEME PARK
MAP
When most people think of WDW - especially kids - it's really the Magic Kingdom
they're picturing. This is where you'll find all the classic Disney experiences, such as the
iconic Cinderella's Castle, rides like Space Mountain and the nighttime fireworks and
light parade illuminating Main Street, USA . For Disney mythology, it doesn't get better.
Cinderella's Castle is at the center of the park, and from there paths lead to the differ-
ent 'lands':
Tomorrowland is where Space Mountain hurtles you through the darkness of outer
space. This indoor roller coaster is the most popular ride in the Magic Kingdom, so come
first thing and if the line is already excruciating, get a FastPass.
Fantasyland is the highlight of any Disney trip for the eight-and-under crowd. This is
the land of Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Donald Duck, Snow White and the Seven
Dwarves, and many more big names.
Adventureland features pirates and jungles, magic carpets and tree houses, whimsical
and silly representations of the exotic locales from storybooks and imagination.
Liberty Square is the home of the the Haunted Mansion, a rambling, 19th century
mansion that's a Disney favorite, and Frontierland is Disney's answer to the Wild West.
Disney Hollywood Studios THEME PARK
MAP
Formerly Disney-MGM Studios, this is the least charming of Disney's parks. However, it
does have two of WDW's most exciting rides: the unpredictable elevator in the Twilight
Zone Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith-themed Rock 'n' Roller Coaster . Wannabe
singers can audition for the American Idol Experience, kids can join the Jedi Training
Academy, and various programs present Walt Disney himself and how Disney's movies
are made.
Epcot THEME PARK
MAP
An acronym for 'Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow,' Epcot was Disney's
vision of a high-tech city when it opened in 1982. It's divided into two halves: Future
World , with rides and corporate-sponsored interactive exhibits, and World Showcase ,
providing an interesting toe-dip into the cultures of 11 countries. Epcot is much more
soothingly low-key than other parks, and it has some of the best food and shopping. Plus,
a few rides are WDW highlights, like Soarin' and Mission: Space. The interactive Turtle
Talk with Crush is delightful.
