Walt Disney World Resort
Covering 40 sq miles, Walt Disney World MAP (WDW; 407-939-5277; ht-
tp://disneyworld.disney.go.com ) is the largest theme park resort in the world. It includes four
separate theme parks, two water parks, a sports complex, five golf courses, two dozen
hotels, 100 restaurants and two shopping and nightlife districts - proving that it's not
such a small world, after all. At times it feels ridiculously crowded and corporate, but
with or without kids, you won't be able to inoculate yourself against Disney's highly in-
fectious enthusiasm and warm-hearted nostalgia. Naturally, expectations run high, and
even the self-proclaimed 'happiest place on earth' doesn't always live up to its billing.
Still, it always happens: Cinderella curtsies to your little Belle, your own Jedi knight van-
quishes Darth Maul, or you tear up on that corny ride about our tiny planet, and suddenly
you're swept up in the magic.
