Sights & Activities
Fort Clinch State Park PARK
(2601 Atlantic Ave; park pedestrian/car $2/6; park 8am-sunset, fort 9am-5pm) Capping the
north end of the island, the Spanish moss-draped Fort Clinch State Park has beaches,
camping ($26), bike trails and a commanding Civil War-era fort, with re-enactments tak-
ing place the first full weekend of every month.
Amelia Island Museum of History MUSEUM

Learn about Amelia Island's intricate history, which has seen it ruled under eight differ-
ent flags starting with the French in 1562. Admission includes tours at 11am and 2pm.
Talbot Islands State Parks PARK
( 904-251-2320; 8am-dusk) Amelia Island is part of the Talbot Islands State Parks,
which includes the pristine shoreline at Little Talbot Island and the 'boneyard beach' at
Big Talbot Island State Park, where silvered tree skeletons create a dramatic landscape.
Both are south of Amelia Island down the First Coast Hwy.
