Daytona Beach BEACH
(per car $5) This stretch of sand was once the city's raceway. You can still drive sections
at a strictly enforced top speed of 10mph. Or rent an ATV, fat-tired cruiser or recumbent
trike. Water sports rentals are ubiquitous.
Daytona International Speedway RACETRACK

schedule. Ticket prices accelerate rapidly for the big races, headlined by the Daytona
500 in February, but you can wander the massive stands for free on nonrace days. Two
first-come, first-served tram tours take in the track, pits and behind-the-scenes areas.
Real fanatics can indulge in the Richard Petty Driving Experience ( 800-237-3889;
www.drivepetty.com ) , where you can either ride shotgun ($84 to $135) around the track or
take a day to become the driver ($550 to $3200); check schedule online.
