self entranced by the sheer quantity flittering around you here.
Museum of Art & History at the Custom House MUSEUM

9:30am-4:30pm) Offering a more low-key, less swashbuckling version of Key West his-
tory, this is an interesting collection of folklore, international art and historical exhibits
housed in the impressive former Customs House.
Fort East Martello Museum & Gardens MUSEUM

9:30am-4:30pm) This fortress preserves interesting historical artifacts and some fabulous
folk art by Mario Sanchez and 'junk' sculptures by Stanley Papio. But Martello's most
famous resident is Robert the Doll - a genuinely creepy, supposedly haunted, 19th-cen-
tury doll that's kept in a glass case to keep him from making mischief.
Activities
Seeing as how you're out in the middle of the ocean, getting out on or in the water is one
of the top activities. Charters abound for everything from fishing to snorkeling to scuba
diving, including dive trips to the USS Vandenberg , a 522-foot transport ship sunk off
the coast to create the world's second largest artificial reef.
Fort Zachary Taylor BEACH

sunset) Key West has three city beaches, but they aren't special; most people head to
Bahia Honda. That said, Fort Zachary Taylor has the best beach on Key West, with white
sand, decent swimming and some near-shore snorkeling; it's great for sunsets and pic-
nics.
