Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park ISLAND

island park, with virgin tropical forests and the 1919 Matheson House. Come for the
shipwrecked isolation. Robbie's Marina offers boat rentals and tours.
Florida Keys History of Diving Museum MUSEUM
( 305-664-9737; www.divingmuseum.org ; MM 83; adult/child $12/6; 10am-5pm) Don't
miss this collection of diving paraphernalia from around the world, including diving
'suits' and technology from the 19th century. This charmingly eccentric museum embod-
ies the quirky Keys.
Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Site PARK
( 305-664-2540; www.floridastateparks.org/windleykey ; MM 85.5 oceanside; admission $2.50,
tour $2; 8am-5pm, closed Tue & Wed) Wander through layer after layer of geological his-
tory in the quarry, with 8ft walls of fossilized coral. Tours are offered Friday to Sunday at
10am and 2pm.
Anne's Beach BEACH
(MM 73.5 oceanside) The area's best public beach; shaded picnic tables and a ribbon of
sand.
Robbie's Marina MARINA
( 305-664-8070; www.robbies.com ; MM 77.5 bayside; half-day kayak & canoe rentals $40-75;
9am-8pm) This marina/roadside attraction offers the buffet of boating options: fishing
charters, jet skiing, party boats, ecotours, snorkeling trips, kayak rentals and more (come
here to visit the area's island parks). At a minimum, stop to feed the freakishly large tar-
pon from the dock ($3 per bucket, $1 to watch), and sift the flea market/tourist shop for
tacky seaside trinkets.
Theater of the Sea DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER
( 305-664-2431; www.theaterofthesea.com ; MM 84.7 bayside; adult/child 3-10 $30/21;
9:30am-5pm) Dolphins and sea lions perform in an intimate, close-up setting, and for an
extra fee you can meet or swim with them.
