TOP OF CHAPTER
Jackson
Mississippi's capital and largest city is victim to the common car-culture phenomenon of
a latent (though stately and gentrifying) downtown surrounded by plush suburbs.
However, interesting areas like the funky Fondren District, along with a cluster of well-
done museums, historic sites and bars and restaurants, give insight into the culture of
Mississippi and are elevating Jackson to a good time.
