Shack Up Inn INN$

Plantation, this self-titled 'bed and beer' 2 miles south on the west side of Hwy 49
evokes the blues like no other. Guests stay in refurbished sharecropper cabins or the cre-
atively renovated cotton gin. The cabins have covered porches and are filled with old fur-
niture and musical instruments.
The old commissary, the Juke Joint Chapel (equipped with pews), is an atmospheric
venue inside the cotton gin for live-music performances. The whole place reeks of down-
home dirty blues and Deep South character - possibly the coolest place you'll ever stay.
Lofts at the Five & Dime LOFTS$$$

ing are six plush, loft-style apartments with molded-concrete counters in the full kitchen,
massive flatscreens in the living room and bedroom, terrazzo showers and free sodas and
water throughout your stay. They sleep up to four comfortably.

A contemporary space where you can enjoy fresh scones and croissants in the mornings,

souped-up Southern comfort food served here (blackened rib eye with red chili mustard,
crawfish cakes with grilled asparagus) amid junkyard-chic decor makes it a nice place
