Downtown
In recent years developers and politicians have been focusing on making the urban core
more vibrant and livable. Big attractions in the city have contributed to the success.
World of Coca-Cola MUSEUM

( www.woccatlanta.com ; 121 Baker St; adult/senior/child $16/14/12; 9am-7:30pm Mon-Fri, to
8:30pm Sat, 10am-7:30pm Sun) Next door to the Georgia Aquarium, this self-congratulatory
museum might prove entertaining to fizzy beverage and rash commercialization fans.
The climactic moment comes when guests sample Coke products from around the world
- a taste-bud-twisting good time! But there are also Andy Warhol pieces on view, a 4D
film to catch, company history to learn, and promotional materials aplenty.
CNN Center TV STUDIO

( 404-827-2300; www.cnn.com/tour/atlanta ; 1 CNN Center; tour adult/senior/child $15/14/12;
9am-5pm) You might be tempted to take a 55-minute behind-the-scenes tour through
the headquarters of the international, 24-hour news giant, but don't be heartbroken if you
miss it. Visitors don't get very close to Wolf Blitzer (or his cronies).
Georgia State Capitol LANDMARK
( 404-463-4536; www.libs.uga.edu/capitolmuseum ; 214 State Capitol; 8am-5pm Mon-Fri,
tours 10am, 10:30am, 11am & 11:30am) The gold-domed capitol is Atlanta's political
hub. The free tours (choose to be guided or self-guided) include a film about the legislat-
ive process and a glance at the government's communications facility.
