Part of a smallish internation-
al chain, the Indigo has a fun, pop-art look, with 130 rooms, 24 of which were recently
remodeled at research time. Those King Rooms are spacious, with brand new wood
floors, high ceilings, flatscreens, leather headboards and office chairs, and the location,
on Capitol Hill, walking distance to the honky tonks, is ideal. Parking is $20.
West End

These squat brick bungalows are less than scenic, but Nashville's West End hostel is
lively and welcoming, with bike rental, and a common kitchen. The crowd is young, in-
ternational and fun, and many hoppin' West End bars are within walking distance. Priv-
ate rooms share showers but have their own toilet.

favorite Nashville boutique hotel riffs on mid-century-modern design with bamboo-
paneled walls and grown-up beanbags in the lobby. Rust- and chocolate-colored rooms
are sizable and well appointed with marble rain showers, glass wash basins, king beds,
ample desk space, fat flatscreens, high-end carpet and linens, and top-level service.
