Children's Museum of Memphis MUSEUM

or and waterwheel. For $5 extra you can maraud through the fun Splash Park , a plaza
with over 40 spouts and sprayers that will keep the kids cool and smiling.
Overton Park
Off Poplar Ave in Midtown, stately homes surround this 342-acre rolling green oasis in
the middle of this often gritty city. If Beale St is Memphis' heart, then Overton Park is its
lungs.
Memphis Zoo ZOO

Feb; ) At the park's northwestern corner, this world-class zoo hosts two giant panda
stars in a $16-million exhibit on native Chinese habitat. Other residents include the full
gamut of monkeys, polar bears, penguins, eagles and sea lions.
Brooks Museum of Art GALLERY

to 5pm Sat, from 11am Sun) A well-regarded art museum on the park's western fringe, the
excellent permanent collection encompasses everything from Renaissance sculpture to
Impressionists to abstract expressionists.
Levitt Shell ARCHITECTURE
( www.levittshell.org ) A historic band shell and the site of Elvis' first concert, in 1954.
Today the mod-looking white shell hosts free concerts all summer.
