this working goat dairy offers B&B accommodations in a Greek Revival farmhouse. Sa-
vor goat's-cheese omelets for breakfast then head out to the barn to pet the goat who
provided the milk.
Carolina Inn HOTEL$$$

if you're not a Tar Heel, this lovely on-campus inn will win you over with hospitality and
historic touches. The charm starts in the bright lobby then continues through the hall-
ways, lined with photos of alums and championship teams. At press time the inn had fin-
ished renovating some of the guestrooms, adding eco-friendly features.
Eating
Durham was named 'The South's Tastiest Town' by Southern Living in 2013, and for
good reason. The area abounds with top-notch restaurants. Downtown Durham has scads
of great eateries, coffee shops and bars. Most of Chapel Hill's better restaurants are
found along Franklin St.
