Wrightsville Beach The closest to Wilmington, with plenty of fried-fish joints,
sunglasses shops and summer crowds.
Carolina Beach Warm water and a boardwalk equal row upon row of beach um-
brellas.
Kure Beach A popular fishing beach and home to the North Carolina Aquarium at
Fort Fisher.
Southport Not a swimming beach, but a quaint town with antique stores and the
