Julep's MODERN AMERICAN$$$

Richmond's finest restaurants serves decadent New Southern cuisine in a classy old-fash-

mint julep, fried green tomatoes or jumbo lump-crab soup, followed by Julep's signature
shrimp and grits with grilled andouille sausage.
Edo's Squid ITALIAN$$$

( 804-864-5488; 411 N Harrison St; mains $12-30) This is easily the best Italian restaurant
in Richmond. Edo's serves up mouthwatering, authentic cuisine such as eggplant
parmesan, spicy shrimp diavolo pasta, daily specials and, of course, squid. This place can
get very crowded and noisy.

brunch: the Devil's Mess - an open-faced omelet with spicy sausage, curry, veg, cheese
and avocado - is quite legendary.
