Two Days
Start your DC adventure at the Mall's much-loved National Air & Space Museum
and National Museum of Natural History . Around lunchtime visit the National Mu-
seum of the American Indian , for aboriginal lore and a great meal. Wander down
the Mall to the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial . Before exhaus-
tion creeps in, go to U Street for dining and drinks.
Next day, head to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum , Arthur M Sackler
Gallery and Freer Gallery of Art . Catch the illuminated White House and the new
Martin Luther King Jr Memorial at night. For dinner, browse the restaurant-lined
Penn Quarter .
Four Days
On day three, go to Georgetown for a morning stroll along the Potomac, followed
by window-shopping and lunch at Martin's Tavern . Afterwards, visit the lovely
Dumbarton Oaks gardens, then take a hike in Rock Creek Park . Head to
Columbia Heights for dinner, followed by drinks at Meridian Pint .
On the fourth day, visit the Newseum , Capitol and Library of Congress , then
walk to Eastern Market for a meal. In the evening, try to catch a show a the
Kennedy Center .

Abraham Lincoln, who gazes peacefully across the Reflecting Pool beneath his neoclas-
sical Doric-columned abode. To the left of Lincoln you can read the words of the Gettys-
burg Address, and the hall below highlights other great Lincoln-isms; on the steps,
Martin Luther King Jr delivered his famed 'I Have a Dream' speech.
