This hip college town on the shores of scenic Lake Champlain is one of those places that
makes you think, wouldn't it be great to live here? The cafe and club scene is on par with
a much bigger city, while the slow, friendly pace is pure small town. And where else can

Sights
Burlington's shops, cafes and pubs are concentrated around Church St Marketplace, a
bustling brick-lined pedestrian mall midway between the University of Vermont and
Lake Champlain.
Shelburne Museum MUSEUM

of Burlington, showcases a Smithsonian-caliber collection of Americana - 150,000 ob-
jects in all. The mix of folk art, decorative arts and more is housed in 39 historic build-
ings, most of them relocated here from other parts of New England to ensure their preser-
vation.
Shelburne Farms FARM

designed by landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (who also designed New York's
Central Park), was both a country house for the aristocratic Webb family and a working
farm, with stunning lakefront perspectives. Sample the farm's superb Cheddar cheese,
tour the magnificent barns, walk the network of trails, and enjoy afternoon tea or dinner

Echo Lake Aquarium & Science Center SCIENCE CENTER

) Examining the colorful past, present and future of Lake Champlain, this lakeside
museum features a multitude of small aquariums and rotating science exhibits with
plenty of hands-on, kid-friendly activities.
