HI Martha's Vineyard HOSTEL$

center of the island. It has everything you'd expect of a top-notch hostel: a solid kitchen,
bike delivery and no curfew. The public bus stops out front and it's right on the bike
path.
Art Cliff Diner CAFE$$$
( 508-693-1224; 39 Beach Rd; mains $10-16; 7am-2pm Thu-Tue) The place for break-
fast and lunch. Chef-owner Gina Stanley adds flair to everything she touches, from the
almond-encrusted French toast to the fresh-fish tacos. The eclectic menu utilizes farm-
fresh island ingredients. Expect a line - it's worth the wait.
Edgartown
Perched on a fine natural harbor, Edgartown has a rich maritime history and a patrician
air. At the height of the whaling era it was home to more than 100 sea captains whose
fortunes built the grand old homes that line the streets today.
Stroll along Main St where you'll find several historic buildings, some of which open
to visitors during the summer.
