Gay & Lesbian Travelers
In general, the Northeast is the most tolerant region in the eastern USA, and the South
the least so, though big cities in all of the regions have long-standing gay communities.
Hot Spots
Manhattan has loads of great gay bars and clubs, especially in Hell's Kitchen, Chelsea
and the West Village. A few hours away (by train and ferry) is Fire Island, the sandy gay
