Smallish Lansing is the state capital; a few miles east lies East Lansing, home of

Between Lansing's downtown and the university is the 8-mile River Trail
( www.lansingrivertrail.org ) . The paved path is popular with cyclists and joggers, and links a
number of attractions, including a children's museum, zoo and fish ladder.
