) The second outpost of Louisville's popular art hotel opened in 2013, next door to the
Center for Contemporary Arts. The mod rooms have accoutrements such as a Nespresso
machine, free wi-fi, plush bedding and, of course, original art. The lobby is a public gal-
lery, so feel free to ogle the trippy videos and nude sculptures. The on-site restaurant and
rooftop bar draw crowds. Parking costs $28.

Eating
Vine St west of 12th St (in the Over-the-Rhine area) holds several hip new eateries. Res-
taurants also concentrate along the riverfront and in the Northside neighborhood (north
of the intersection of I-74 and I-75, 5 miles north of downtown).
Tucker's DINER$

borhood a few blocks from Findlay Market, Tucker's has been feeding locals - black,
white, foodies, penniless - since 1946. It's an archetypal diner, serving shrimp and grits,
biscuits and gravy, and other hulking breakfast dishes, along with wildly inventive veget-
arian fare (like beet sliders) using ingredients sourced from the market.
Son Joe Tucker cooks; Ma Tucker, age 90-plus, still peels the veggies. Try the goetta
(pronounced get-uh ), an herb-spiced, pork-and-oats breakfast sausage that's found only
in Cincinnati.
Graeter's Ice Cream ICE CREAM$
