HOW TO FIND A REAL CHICAGO BAR
Unfortunately, we can't list every watering hole in town, but we can give you the
tools to go out and discover classic, character-filled bars on your own. Look for the
following:
» an 'Old Style' beer sign swinging out front
» a well-worn dart board and/or pool table inside
» patrons wearing ballcaps with the logo of the Cubs, White Sox or Bears
» bottles of brew served in buckets of ice
» sports on TV

Hideout LIVE MUSIC
( www.hideoutchicago.com ; 1354 W Wabansia Ave; 7pm-late Tue & Sat, from 4pm Wed-Fri, hours
vary Sun & Mon; 72) Hidden behind a factory at the edge of Bucktown, this two-room
lodge of indie rock and alt-country is well worth seeking out. The owners have nursed an
outsider, underground vibe, and the place feels like your grandma's downstairs rumpus
room. Music and other events (bingo, literary readings etc) take place nightly.
