Aquarium include the Oceanarium, with its beluga whales and frolicking white-sided
dolphins, and the shark exhibit, where there's just 5in of Plexiglas between you and two
dozen fierce-looking swimmers. The 4D theater, touch tanks and aquatic show cost extra
(around $5 each).
Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum MUSEUM

bang (pun!) out of the Adler. There are public telescopes from which to view the stars,
3D lectures in which you can learn about supernovas, and the Planet Explorers exhibit
where kids can 'launch' a rocket. The immersive digital films cost $10 extra. The Adler's
front steps offer Chicago's primo skyline view.
Northerly Island PARK
(1400 S Lynn White Dr; 146 or 130) The prairie-grassed park has walking trails, fishing,
bird-watching and an outdoor venue for big-name concerts (which you can hear from
12th Street Beach).
