is home to both the museum - a don't-miss collection of jaw-dropping military aircraft -

Historic Pensacola Village HISTORIC BUILDINGS

10am-4pm Tue-Sat, tours 11am, 1pm & 2:30pm) Pensacola says 'take that, St Augustine!' with
this village, a self-contained enclave of historic homes and museums. Admission is good
for one week and includes a guided tour and entrance to each building.
TT Wentworth Museum MUSEUM
(330 S Jefferson St; admission free; 10am-4pm) The TT Wentworth Museum has
two floors of Florida history, including remnants of the Luna expedition and one floor of
Wentworth's collection of oddities, including his famous petrified cat.
Pensacola Museum of Art MUSEUM

from noon Sat) In the city's old jail (1908), this lovely art museum features an impressive,
growing collection of major 20th- and 21st-century artists, spanning cubism, realism, pop
art and folk art.
Gulf Islands National Seashore PARK
( www.nps.gov/guis ; 7-day pedestrian & cyclist/car $3/8; sunrise-sunset) To enjoy the area's
lovely white sands, head to the easy-access Pensacola Beach or the neighboring Gulf Is-
lands National Seashore, part of a 150-mile stretch of undeveloped beach. Aim for the
Naval Live Oaks section for a calm, family-friendly beach, and drive out to Fort Pick-
ens (

) to poke around this
crumbling wreck of a 19th-century fort.
