49ers were the National Football League dream team during the 1980s and '90s, claiming
five Superbowl championships. After decades shivering through fogged-in games and a
fumbled 2012 Superbowl bid, the 49ers have a new home in 2014: Santa Clara's brand
new Levi's Stadium. Some fans grumble that the team should be renamed, since Santa
Clara is 38 miles from Downtown San Francisco; others are too excited about hosting Su-
perbowl 50 in 2016 to quibble. To reach the stadium, take Caltrain one hour south to
Santa Clara station, then catch the game-day shuttle.
