Haight Flashback
The Walk
Whether you're a hippie born too late, punk born too early, or a weirdo who passes as nor-
mal, Haight St is here to claim you as its own. On this walk you'll cover 100 years of
Haight history, starting in 1867 with the park that was San Francisco's saving grace in the
disastrous 1906 earthquake and fire. Fog and grit come with the scenery, but there's no bet-
ter place to break away from the everyday and find your nonconformist niche.
Start Buena Vista Park; Haight St
Finish Golden Gate Park; Stanyan St
Length 1.3 miles; one hour
Take a Break
What a long, strange trip it's been - refuel with a burger and beer at Magnolia Brewpub (
Click here ) , the microbrewery and organic eatery named after a Grateful Dead song.
