Amoeba Music
MUSIC
Enticements are hardly necessary to lure the masses to the West Coast's most eclectic col-
lection of new and used music and video, but Amoeba offers listening stations, a free music
zine with uncannily accurate reviews, a free concert series that recently starred X (John
Doe/Exene Cervenka), Lana Del Rey and the Dandy Warhols, plus a foundation that's
saved 1000+ acres of rainforest.

Bound Together Anarchist Book Collective
You don't have to be a lifetime subscriber to
Eat the State
to be awed by this vast free-
speech selection. Since 1976 this volunteer-run nonprofit bookstore has kept fairly regular
hours, coordinated the Anarchist Book Fair and restored the 'Anarchists of the Americas'
storefront mural - makes us tools of the state look like slackers.

Wasteland
CLOTHING, ACCESSORIES
Flashbacks come with the territory at Wasteland, a cinema converted into a vintage empori-
um of trippy '60s maxi-dresses, '70s Frye boots, '80s belts and '90s grunge-rock T-shirts.
Hip occasionally verges on hideous with sequined sweaters and pirate shirts, but at these
prices, anyone can afford fashion risks.
