All the feet can ruin the illusion of flying
232. If you've spent a little extra cash on a Canon EOS Rebel or similar SLR
for your trip, be sure to use two of the camera's modes that can help you
get great shots but are often overlooked- Night Portrait mode and Hand-
held Night Scene.
Night Portrait mode is a great way to get awesome flash pictures in the evening.
Many times you'll need flash to light your subjects but you don't want to lose the
awesome background such as the brightly lit Cinderella Castle or the 'big ball'
at Epcot. With this mode, the flash will fire and the shutter will stay open for a
bit afterward to properly expose the background. Just be sure to hold your camera
steady and tell your subjects to stay still- even after the flash goes off.
Another cool mode is Handheld Night Scene. This is a great way to get perfect
pictures at night, or in a dark attraction such Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted
Mansion without using flash. (Flash pictures are not allowed inside these and
many other indoor attractions, so this is the only way to get a decent shot without
breaking the rules.) With one press of the shutter the camera will take four shot
consecutively- each at ΒΌ of the exposure time required. The shots are then pro-
cessed by the sophisticated electronics inside the camera and sandwiched together
to give you one great looking shot!
