7 Summary and Future Work
A systematic procedure for template selection and update is critical to the perform-
ance of a biometric system. Even in which system combines raw data or features to
create a new template may do template selection first and then combines the selected
templates. In this paper, we propose two algorithms based on match scores. The ex-
perimental results show that the two methods: MMS and GMMS can improve the
accuracy of biometric system efficiently. Our techniques do not need to evolve with
the details of feature extraction and match, so it is convenient to use the method in
other biometric systems. Currently, our fingerprint database just has 12 impressions
for each individual. In the future, we prepare to experiment on other biometric data-
base which has more samples for each individual. Also, we prepare to study the
ONLINE template update procedure further.
