like painted greenlings ( Oxylebius pictus ), rosy rockfish, and blackeye
gobies ( Coryphopterus nicholsii ). The result was spectacular. It truly
was like a piece of the bottom transplanted to the world above. None
of the animals or plants were large, but their rich variety and vivid
colors certainly captured visitors' attention. If only we could do this
on a large scale, I remember thinking; wouldn't it be wonderful to
give visitors the same sense of exploration and discovery that comes
with actually being in the underwater world?
