This wholesale flower market has become a tourist attraction in its own right. Come late at
night when the endless piles of delicate orchids, rows of roses and stacks of button carna-
tions are a sight to be seen, and the shirtless porters wheeling blazing piles of colour set the
place in motion.

Talat Mai
Nudge your way deep into one of Chinatown's famous capillaries, where vendors sell dried
goods, half-alive filleted fish and vats of unidentifiable pickled things. The soi's poetic fi-
nale (north of Th Charoen Krung) is lined with stalls selling elaborate funeral offerings and
'passports to heaven' that include paper iPhones and cars to accompany loved ones into the
next life.
