The Sights in a Day
Start your day early by beating the tour buses to the immense golden Buddha at
Wat Traimit ( Click here ). Continue, crossing through the frenetic market al-
leyway that is Talat Mai ( Click here ) , to the maze-like Chinese-style temple, Wat
Mangkon Kamalawat ( Click here ) .
Make your way by foot or taxi to Phahurat ( Click here ) , Bangkok's Little In-
dia. Take lunch at Royal India ( Click here ) and, if you've got the space, a
post-lunch dessert at Old Siam Plaza ( Click here ) .
Chinatown begins to pick up again in the early evening, and this is the best time
to return to the area and follow our food-based tour ( Click here ) of the neigh-
bourhood. After dinner, bide your time with a cocktail and live jazz at Cotton ( Click here
). When it's as late as you're willing to stay up, cross over to the nocturnal flower market
at Pak Khlong Talat ( Click here ) .
