11.3.3
Serum Taurine, Adiponectin, and Leptin Levels
The serum taurine level was significantly higher in HFT group compared to other
groups ( p < 0.05) (Table 11.4 ). The serum adiponectin level in HF group tends to be
lower compared to normal group and HFT group and serum leptin levels in HF and
HFT groups tend to be higher compared to normal group, but not significantly.
11.3.4
Correlation Between Serum Taurine and Adiponectin or
Leptin Levels
The correlation between serum taurine and adiponectin or leptin levels is shown in
Table 11.5 . There was positive correlation between serum taurine and serum adi-
ponectin levels ( p < 0.01), while there was no significant correlation between serum
taurine and serum leptin levels.

Correlations Between Serum Taurine Level and Adipose
Tissue Weight or Lipid Profiles
The correlations between serum taurine level and adipose tissues or lipid profiles
are shown in Table 11.6 . There was negative correlation between serum taurine
