In-Depth Information
Take the L1 Metro Tuileries (nearest) or Concorde Line 1 / 8 / 12
Bring a picnic with you to the Tuileries Garden (what fits better than a French
baguette or chocolate croissants?), or buy something at the more costly shops and
restaurants.
The area just next to the Louvre should be avoided if you plan to take a rest because
it is full of pushy vendors trying to sell you all kind of souvenirs or even worse try-
ing to scam you.
Beware of pickpockets near the Louvre, with some of them trying to distract you
with petitions and whatever tricks they have in their repertoire, but the Garden itself
is usualy much safer.
If you're visiting in winter then keep in mind that it is a park and obviously less
inviting than in summertime.
