Creme Brulée
Creme Brulée literally means “burnt cream” and is a delicious desert made out of egg, yolks,
sugar and cinnamon. Creme Brulée is closely related to Crema Catalana, the Spanish Cata-
lonian cream dessert. It consists of a base made of rich custard covered with a layer of hard,
caramelized sugar heated over fire. It is usually served in a small cup at room temperature.
The first recipes were already around by the 17th century.

This specialty is similar to the Crema Catalana, the Spanish Catalonian cream dessert. It is
made with sugar, egg yolks and cinnamon and burnt sugar on the top.
