In-Depth Information
The Cathedral Towers are open for visits but you have to climb 387 steps to the top.
It's well worth the effort and the small fee as you get honored with great views over
Paris while standing next to the famous Gargoyles.
Be aware that this is an actual working church and due to this fact exploring the
inner church is restricted while ceremonies take place.
If you're planning on visiting the Cathedral of “Notre Dame”, you may as well have
a walk on the Île de la Cité (the island which is home to the Notre Dame), which
has another beautiful Church, the Sainte-Chapelle. Later you might want to walk to
the nearby Louvre and the Pont des Arts Bridge.
If you arrive early in the day you will be able to avoid the long queues.
Check their webpage for the Evening Mass if you want to participate.
A famous and crowded place, not only of interest for tourists but also for plenty of
pickpockets. Be aware!
