Before you enter the museum, admire the exterior of the building. Designed to recall an ancient bronze
ding
(three-legged ritual vessel), the building also echoes the shape of a famous bronze mirror from the Han dynasty,
exhibited within the museum.

The audio guide is well worth the ¥40 fee (¥400 deposit, or your passport). It highlights particularly interesting
items within an exhibit and offers good gallery overviews.
Take a Break
There's a simple restaurant on the ground floor and a cafe on the 2nd floor if you need a break, but the best place
for a real meal is outside the museum at the nearby Yunnan Road Food Street (
