Ancient Chinese Bronzes Gallery
On the ground floor is the Shanghai Museum's star attraction, an unrivalled collection of
ancient bronzes, some of which date as far back as the 21st century BC. The remarkable
diversity of shapes is striking, revealing the significance of bronze in early society. Ob-
jects range from sacrificial vessels and wine jars to weapons and two-toned bells.
