The Chinese sign on the door says it all: 'No smoking, no alcohol, no eggs and no meat'.
The food here is simply delectable, and the health-conscious, ecofriendly mentality extends
all the way to the toothpicks (made from cornflour). ( 258 Fengxian Rd; dishes ¥22-68;

Wujiang Road Food Street
This pedestrian food street has still got the goods when it comes to snack food. If you can beat the mealtime rush,
the first spot to go scavenging is the multistorey building at No 269 (above one of the W Nanjing Rd metro exits).
The 2nd floor here has two of the city's most famous chains: the Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant ( Click here
) and a much-too-small outlet of Yang's Fry Dumplings ( Click here ) . Down at street level, you'll find plenty of
cafes, Japanese ramen chains, ice-cream vendors and stalls selling more traditional snacks such as roasted chest-
nuts.

Newfangled dim sum and Shanghai-meets-Cantonese cuisine in a splendidly stylish setting.
Adventurous standouts mix with traditional dishes: look for eggplant with minced pork,
chicken with sesame pockets and deep-fried ribs with honey and garlic. Sunday brings an
all-you-can-eat brunch. Reserve. (
