volutionary who cofounded the Republic of China together with Sun Yatsen.

lection of handicrafts from Guizhou province in southwest China. You'll find shoes,
silver jewellery, paper cuts and embroidered fabric, all fashioned by the Miao people,
alongside other finds such as paintings and contemporary Chinese-style clothing.
Song Qingling's Former Residence
Built in the 1920s by a Greek shipping magnate, this
building
( 1843 Middle Huaihai Rd;
admission ¥20; 9am-4.30pm)
became home to the wife of Sun Yatsen from 1948 to 1963
and still contains some of her original possessions. It stands across from the land-
mark Normandie Apartments (1924), whose covered arcade wraps around the inter-
section of Wukang and Huaihai Rds.
Shanghai Guqin Cultural Foundation
This
cultural centre
( 1801 Middle Huaihai Rd; 9am-5pm)
offers classes in a handful of
traditional arts: Chinese ink painting,
weiqi
(go) and the
guqin
(seven-string zither).
Drop by to visit the peaceful 1930s villa and garden and the students might give you
a brief demonstration.
