Concession-Era Architecture
The western part of the French Concession was once one of the most desirable
addresses in Shanghai, evident from the large and extravagant mansions
scattered throughout the area. Although some of these residences are still inhab-
ited, others have been transformed into stylish restaurants, shops, galleries and
historic sites, particularly along the century-old Rte Ferguson (today's Wukang
Rd).
