Step Seven:
Now, if you're using a PC, there's a plug-
in you'll have to download to get this
to work. So, go to www.sbsutherland
.com, click on Lightroom Related near
the top, then under Export Plugins, click
on MapiMailer Email Export Plugin for
Lightroom. Download the MapiMailer
file, and install it on your PC. If you aren't
sure how to install a plug-in, there is
a link to the installation instructions on
the download page. ( Note: We cannot
guarantee the veracity of this website.
Please download at your own risk.)
Now, when you create your preset, you'll
choose MapMailer from the Export To
pop-up menu at the top of the Export
dialog. You don't need an Export action,
so make any other changes you want
and add it as a new preset as I explained
at the end of Step Six. Let's try it out: In
Lightroom, Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click)
on the photos you want to send to select
them. Once they're selected, go under
the File menu, under Export with Preset,
and choose Send in Email , as shown here
(that's the Export preset you created in
the previous step).
Step Eight:
Lightroom takes it from there, and the
next thing you'll see onscreen is a new
email message window open, with all your
selected photos resized and attached to
the email. All you have to do now is enter
the email address of the person you want
to send this to, add a subject line, and hit
Send. Now that you've created this Export
preset, and its email Export action, the
whole process will be just two steps: select
the photos, and choose Send in Email. See,
it was worth that little extra effort this one
time to set up such an effortless Lightroom
emailing system.
