Chapter 7 Saving JPEGs, TIFFs, and More
Exporting Images
saving JPEGs, TIFFs, and more
Man, if there's a more exciting chapter than
one on how to save a JPEG, I can't wait to
see it, because this has to be some really
meaty stuff. Okay, I'll be the first to admit
that while this may not seem like an incred-
ibly exciting chapter, it's about much, much
more than saving JPEGs. That's right—it's
also about saving TIFFs. Okay, I gotcha on that
one (come on—you know I did), but in reality
there is more to this process than you might
think, so if you spend just a few minutes now
reading this short chapter, I promise you
it will pay off in saved time and increased
productivity in the future. Now, at this point
you might be thinking, “Hey Scott, that last
part was actually somewhat helpful. What's
that doing in a chapter intro?” I honestly
don't know how that snuck in here, but
I can tell you this (and I'm being totally
truthful here), it's really late at night as
I write this, and sometimes if I'm not really
paying attention, some actual useful infor-
mation winds up sneaking into one of these
chapter intros, rendering them totally useless.
I do my best to make sure that these chapter
intros are completely unfettered (I can't tell
you how few times I've been able to use the
word “unfettered” in a sentence, so I'm pretty
psyched right now), but sometimes, against
my better judgment, everything just starts
to make sense, and before you know it—
something useful happens. I try to catch
these in the editing process by copying-and-
pasting the entire chapter intro into the
Pimp Name Generator (that's four times in
one book. Cha-ching!), and then those results
get copied-and-pasted back here as the final
edited version for print. See, I do care. Pimp!
