Bill's Bookmobile Think back to your childhood when the library's bookmobile would come
around the neighborhood. That is exactly what Bryde Cestare, executive director of the
Friends of the Library Hawaii, wanted to create with this 12 x 27-foot RV, refitted to be an air-
conditioned, well-lit bookstore on wheels. All profits support the state's 51 public libraries. 690

mainland musicians at least monthly, and special events almost daily that make this store a

Friends of Kailua Library Bookstore Located in the community meeting rooms of the Kailua
Library, this bargain bookstore has a range of books from that perfect beach read to college
textbooks and bestselling nonfiction. Every used book is either 50ยข or $1. Call for hours, as

RainbowBooksandRecords A little weird but totally lovable, especially among students and
eccentrics (and insatiable readers), Rainbow Books is notable for its selection of popular fic-
tion, records, and Hawaii-themed books, secondhand and reduced. Because it's located in the
university area, it's always bulging with textbooks, Hawaiiana, and popular music. It's about
