WaikikiParc ★★ This hotel is a great Waikiki secret, designed for the 20s-to-30s crowds. The
“hidden” property offers lots of bonuses: terrifically located, just 100 yards from the beach,
it's managed and run by the ultraluxury Halekulani hotel (but comes at a more reasonable
price). The compact, beautifully appointed rooms have a contemporary, Hawaiian-Zen decor.
Rooms are more spacious, with wired Internet access (the thick concrete walls, plus the dens-
ity of Waikiki buildings, make wireless reception practically impossible); lanais with ocean,
mountain, or city views; and adjustable floor-to-ceiling shutters for those who want to sleep
in. The Parc features the same level of service that has made the Halekulani famous and offers
an excellent restaurant, NobuWaikiki, known for its famous chef and cutting-edge Japanese
cuisine.
